Deja Vu - "No! Not Possible!" Rings Out Over Washington Again (with a different result)

 By Peter D. Walker

Perhaps the most famous television call, which will remain forever etched in Raptor folklore, was not called by a Raptors broadcaster. Instead, Steve Buckhantz's call for the Wizards network remains the most memorable television call ever for Raptor fans.

Last year when Morris Peterson nailed his improbable three point hail mary at the buzzer, Buckhantz shouted ....

Nooooooo! ..... Not possible!!!!! ...

It's a call which still brings a smile to fans of the Toronto basketball team. That evening, the Raptors prevailed in overtime 123-118.

Remarkably last night in DC, the famous call was heard yet again.

This time it was Anthony Parker's three point buzzer beater that tied the Raptors and Wizards at the end of regulation and we heard Nooooooo! ... its Not possible !!!!!  ... The only difference yesterday is that Washington was not demoralized by deju vu and took control in overtime to defeat the Raptors, 108 -104.

By the way, Buckhantz is one of the best television play-by-play guys in the NBA and he's a real good sport about his now famous call.

Here's how it looked and sounded in the dying seconds of regulation as lightning struck again:

Here are the complete game highlights which ended with a 108-104 victory for the Washington Wizards along with a flashback to Mo Pete's shot:

So while the Raptors lost a heartbreaker (in a game where their overall rebounding and shooting was atrocious), Toronto fans can still smile listening to No! Not Possible! once again.
