Los Angeles Lakers Will Take The Boston Celtics In Six Games

 By RaptorTalk

One of the classic NBA rivalries renews itself as the Boston Celtics will host the Los Angeles Lakers in Game One of the 2008 NBA Finals. While the players names have changed, the intensity of the Green vs. Gold rivalry has not changed one bit.

This match-up is one which pits Big Three East vs. Big Three West. It is Garnett/Pierce/Allen facing Bryant/Gasol/Odom.

No point in changing our pre-playoffs prediction. This series will be won by the Lakers in six games. LA and Boston will split the first two games and then LA will take 3 of the next 4 games to claim the crown.

The Celtics have won so far based on defence and the solid play of their bench. However, the Lakers have the offensive fire power to overcome the Celtics defence and we expect the LA bench to outperform the Boston reserves.

Even though Paul Pierce is returning home to LA, I expect him to struggle. Ray Allen has had a hot & cold play-offs and Boston can't win without consistent play from him. The difference maker may very well be Lamar Odom who we think will step up big time.

At the end of the day, this series will be decided by Kobe vs. KG. The Celtics and Garnett cannot contain Kobe. Kobe's will and determination will prevail as Kobe will prove to the basketball world that he can win an NBA ring without Shaq.

The crown returns to Los Angeles, while Boston must wait another year.
