Barack Obama and His Passion for Basketball

 By RaptorTalk:

Democratic Presidential nominee, Barack Obama has an incredible love for the game of basketball in addition to having some decent game - even at age 47.

He sat down with Bryant Gumbell during an HBO special and chatted about hoops and the role that sports plays in his life. As a kid, Barack Obama's favorite player was the legendary Dr. J.

In addition to old high school footage from Punaho High in Honolulu (where he won the Hawaii state championship), we see Barack playing some recent pick-up ball. Surprisingly, Obama agreed to participate in a game with US servicemen.

This is an excellent interview which is posted here in two parts. We certainly enjoyed hearing the likely next American President speak casually about sports in general and hoops specifically.
