Raptors Unveil New Toronto Black Uniforms
By RaptorTalk:The Toronto Raptors unveiled their new third jersey in black. Fans have been calling for a black jersey for years and its now here.
It is essentially identical to the exiting red and white uniforms from a design perspective. However, there is a small maple leaf on the back above the players' name.
What's interesting is that the Raptors have returned the words TORONTO to the front of their new black uniforms. In the NBA, most clubs have their team nickname on their home uniforms and the city name on their road jerseys.
However, in an attempt to become Canada's Team, the marketing gurus at MLSE decided to have the word RAPTORS on both home and away uniforms and drop TORONTO. This change was made when they switched to the Red jerseys as their official road uniform.

Great blog, I check back every day to find new articles..sorry this comment isn't so much about the new jerseys as it is about Raptors ticket prices, I couldn't find your season ticket article...the insider sale for single game tickets was today and I was shocked at the prices...I know our Raps are owned by MLSE but its getting to the point where its not even affordable to go to a game...I used to go to 3 or 4 games a season when lower bowl tickets were as low as $60 now the cheapest you'll find is $99 ($90 for lower end opponents)...I've been out of the country for a year now and I'll be in the States for the next couple years for med school so its not often I get to catch a Raptors game...with these prices I might be better off going to another market to watch the Raps...gets me thinking I should just invest in a nice TV and watch it all in HD just like you...anyways, just wanted you to know you're not the only one frustrated with ticket prices, I'm sure there's a lot more...

I've got this utopian picture stuck in my head this season...
Parker drives to the lane and gets taken down hard, someone immediately runs to pick him up and gets in between him and the assailant.
That jersey has attitude, and here's hoping some of it spills out onto the court.
