The Raptors and Chris Bosh Deserve The Boos From Loyal ACC Fans

 By RaptorTalk

After yet another pathetic performance, Chris Bosh is complaining about ACC fans booing - just like he did last season when the Raptors were playing like crap down the stretch.

"I think it's good for us playing on the road right now," Bosh said after his team suffered their eighth loss in the last 10 games.

"If I wanted to get booed, I'd go on the road. It's real tense right now. When you're down three points at home and you're hearing boos, that's kind of disheartening.

"Whether the crowd knows it or not, they play a big part in the game."

Doug Smith of the Star countered by writing, “The crowd had every reason to grow more angry as the game progressed, though, as it has on several occasions this season.”

Doug Smith is spot on. The Raptors have won only 7 of their last 22 games. They have been out-rebounded in the last 14 games straight. They blew 1st quarter leads in all three home games this week. They shot a pathetic 33% in the final 3 quarters tonight. The Raptors have coughed up double digit leads in countless games.

That is all from a team, that at the start of the season talked about being a top four seed and winning 50 games. Now they are on pace to win only 30 games and finish solidly in the bottom four of the Eastern Conference.

If I was at the ACC, I would have boo-ed too.

Lets not forget that this is not a storied franchise by any means. Since its inception, fans have overpaid for tickets and packed the building while the Raptors have basically won nothing!

In recent history, we've suffered through a couple of 27 win seasons, one promising 47 win year and then a mediocre 41-41 campaign. The projected 32-50 record for this season is not going to make Raptor fans happy either - even though 19,000 continue to pour into the ACC on most nights.

Memo to Chris Bosh

Stop whining about the fans and just play like the MVP you claim to be.

When the Raps felt the Dallas game slipping away, instead of going inside - Bosh launched a ridiculous 3 ball early in the shot clock. That's not MVP-type leadership.

Bosh can't have it both ways. He wants to be a leader, he wants to be an MVP and he wants max money. I'm OK with that.

But, for the second time in two seasons Chris is complaining that fans are booing.

What concerns me is that a real leader, a real MVP and a deserving max money guy would be taking full responsibility and saying that he fully understands the fan's frustrations and promises to work even harder to turn this around.

Don't complain about the fans who are the one's who pay your inflated salary. Instead be a leader and hammer on your team mates and on management and on yourself for letting down loyal Toronto fans.

Toronto is one of the best NBA cities

Chris may also be pining for greener pastures. Guess what? Fans in places like New York, Boston, Dallas, Philly, Chicago, New Orleans and others will boo in a heartbeat when they are unhappy with your performance. Or you could play in "boo-free" arenas like Memphis, New Jersey or Charlotte where they just don't care.

Like it or not, the fans have every right to boo a terrible performance from million dollar athletes. I was at the New Jersey debacle and it cost me $500 for two hours of watching the Raps play like fragile sissies who wilt under pressure. As a fan, who in part pays Bosh’s salary – I deserve more for my money.

Last time I checked, neither Bosh or MLSE were prepared to put ‘their money where their mouth is’ and offer a money-back guarantee when the Raptors stink out the ACC.

Now you know why I cancelled my season tickets after 12 seasons.

I happen to disagree with you here. Criticize me all you want, but as far as I'm concerned Toronto has some pretty weak fans. Sure, they love them and cheer as loudly as any arena when their winning games, but as soon as they're underachieving, they throw them under the bus. If you're not gonna cheer for your team when they're losing, I don't want to hear you cheering for them when they're winning either... in which case you're not a "loyal fan" anyway. I'm taking these losses as hard as anyone, but people need to stop jumping on and off the bandwagon every time they lose a game... btw I heard lebron doesn't have enough fans, why don't you try cleveland?
